Our Company

Instilling confidence into home buyers and sellers through honesty, transparency and thoroughness has been the cornerstone of Homespec Property Inspections' business philosophy since its inception in 1996. Homespec is a locally owned and operated company serving the Omaha Metro as well as the surrounding communities in Eastern Nebraska and Western Iowa. We provide pre-purchase home inspections, pre-listing inspections, builder warranty inspections, partial inspections as well as radon testing.
Stephen Marten - Owner

Our Owner

Stephen Marten, the owner and chief inspector, was born in Omaha, NE and has lived and worked in this community all of his life. Stephen has spent the better part of 25 years in the construction industry as an onsite carpenter, field superintendent, project manager, estimator and quality control supervisor. He also earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 1981 and is a graduate of the Midwest Inspectors Institute. It is his construction and educational background that has allowed him to easily make the transition into the home inspection business.

Stephen is also a certified member of the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) and has performed over 10,000 inspections. He currently holds the position of Treasurer with the local Greater Omaha ASHI Chapter as well as an Affiliate Member of the Omaha Area Board of Realtors and Southwest Iowa Board of Realtors. Stephen is also a Certified Compliance Inspector for both FHA and VA Specially Adapted Housing.
